The book “The History of Russian Cinema” was created based on the series “People with Movie Cameras”, which has already received more than 5 million views.

It contains 246 minutes of video about Russian cinema – from the first chronicles to films of recent years – framed in seven chapters:

  • Russian cinema from birth to the revolution.
  • Cinema avant-garde.
  • Cinema of the Stalin era.
  • Thaw cinema.
  • Stagnate cinema.
  • Perestroika and the nineties.
  • Russian cinema of the 21st century.

Each chapter of the collection is supplemented with facts that were not included in the video releases, detailed descriptions of cinematic scenes and the original chapter “Russian Cinema from Birth to the Revolution.”
