As Vedomosti reports, Apple has finally turned its attention to Russia, planning to open two Apple Shops in Moscow by the end of the year.

Apple opens its own stores in Russia for the first time

Macintosh computers will now be sold in specialized departments in the stores of the White Wind Digital network, which was confirmed by the general director of the network Ilya Timchenko. The opening of the Apple Shop is scheduled for December 22 and 23 in the Evropeisky shopping center and the Gorbushka shopping center.

The principle of cooperation between Russian retailers and Apple is as follows. Employees of the company's Russian office will become sellers in the Apple Shop. Furniture, advertising materials and equipment must be provided by Apple itself, and the retail space and supply of equipment from distributors will be guaranteed by the Russian side. An important point is that new products will be available in the Apple Shop earlier than in dealer stores.

According to analysts, this step by Apple management indicates serious intentions regarding business development in Russia. Moreover, retail outlets in the White Wind Digital network are not the only ones where it will soon be possible to buy Mac computers. In the first quarter of 2010, the opening of an Apple Shop is planned in the M.Video network.

Well, let’s add that Apple Shop ≠ Apple Store.
